Many users don't have the possibility, expertise or hardware to do the modifications of the Xbox. This list summarizes people who can help you for free.

Possible Help

Remember: this page is for people that don't want to do any of these things themselves! If you DO want to do this yourself, look at this website's HOWTOs!

SG

You send an Xbox Memory Unit, and get it back with all three Linux MechAssault images on it.

SW

You send your Xbox (with cables and controllers), and get it back with the software modification ("MechInstaller") applied!!

HW

You send your Xbox (no cables or controllers, just the Xbox), and get it back with the hardware modification applied, i.e. the latest Cromwell on the TSOP.

USB

You send the necessary cables (XBox and normal USB) and get back a male XBox to female USB adaptor. Note, however, that it may be easier to just buy this cable from someone: for a listing of just a few retailers offering this cable, look here.

Rules

READ THIS BEFORE SENDING ANYTHING TO OR VISITING THE PEOPLE LISTED BELOW!!

• The people listed below will do the service for free, they will take no money.
• But they suggest that you give them what is listed in the field "gift".
• They will not do any other modification for you than those listed. (The details of a person asking for other modifications will be sent to all others, so that nobody will help this person any more.)
• Do not ask about illegal things, like EvolutionX, XBMC or playing game copies. These people are smart enough to understand that you will not 'play a copy of the game you already own because you want to keep the original in its box so it won't get dirty'.
• Always contact them by email first, they might be too busy to do it at the moment. They may always refuse to do it without a reason.
• Always contact the person nearest to you, try to visit them, instead of sending hardware.
• If you send hardware, you must include postage or money to buy postage in order for the person to mail the hardware back to you. The person will not pay any postage, you must include that. Do not include any other money other than the money for postage.
• If anything gets damaged, they will not be held liable, it is your own risk.
• The person doing the job will return the hardware under all circumstances.
• Please understand that the person that makes the modification will not necessarily be interested in being your personal guide for Xbox Linux afterwards.
• By giving away your hardware to anyone of the people listed below, you accept these terms.
• If anyone in this list violates any of the above rules, this person will be removed from the list immediately. We will anonymously test all people in this list periodically.
• If you want to be added to this list, sign up on this website, create a user page in this wiki about yourself (click on your name in the upper right of any page as soon as you are logged in) and add yourself to the list. If you need help, email Michael Steil (mailto:mist@c64.org).
